ABOUT
Danielle Cresp, Organic Grower & Manager at Hawthorn House Organics
Hellllooooooo, I’m Danielle!
Welcome to Hawthorn House Organics website!
My partner, Joshua, and I have been growing nutrient rich, certified organic fruit & vegetables at Hawthorn House Organics since we bought our farm in 2023 .
Our farm is located on Dja Dja Wurrung land in the Hepburn Region of Central Victoria in Australia.
Previously I worked in the arts as a performing artist, director and teacher. These days Joshua and I are both keen students of the land; we share the responsibilities of learning, growing and management together. We both have extra jobs to support the farms running costs until (hopefully) one day we can live off the gifts of the land and our hard work.
2023_2024
Our first year on the land saw us following permaculture principles. We listening to the land. We observed the seasons. We pondered what the land might be asking for. The first thing we heard was “plant more trees”. We planted 400 trees (both native and non-native). We also continued with the organic certification from the previous farmers of the land which means the land we’re on has been Certified Organic since 2015. We’re currently Certified Organic with our wonderfully supportive Southern Cross Certified organic certifier.
2024 - 2025
The second year on the land we planted 200 more trees! We continued with our organic certification with Southern Cross Certified. We also attained a water allocation for our bore to water our crops/fruit trees.
2026…
The third year on the land finds us getting ready to sell our produce at local farmers markets and other suppliers of certified organic produce.
OUR PRODUCE

We also have a lush cottage garden with yummy herbs and flowers.
Noticing
Noticing what the land, weather and animals are expressing is very important to us. We believe:
“The more you notice, the more you have to play with!”
